Dental veneers are extremely thin porcelain or resin covers that fit atop and around the sides of your teeth. Dr. Rafaat uses porcelain veneers, and he bonds them to your original teeth using an adhesive. Veneers take discolored, misshapen teeth and make them white, even, and straight. They’re today’s solution for a smile transformation.
Durability - Porcelain veneers last for years when you brush and floss regularly.
Practically permanent - Porcelain veneers last for years when you brush and floss regularly.
Custom-made - Dr. Rafaat can shape and trim the veneers to most flatter your face. For example, some people consider rounder teeth more feminine and squarer teeth more masculine.
Natural-looking - Dr. Rafaat matches the veneer to the color of your surrounding teeth.
Stain resistant - Veneers never become discolored, so that cup of joe won’t ever stain your teeth again.
A confident smile - Veneers produce white, even, beautiful teeth. Your self-confidence will soar when you see your brand-new smile.
The first step in creating a new smile with porcelain veneers is to communicate the changes you’d like to see in your smile. You can bring Dr. Rafaat pictures of the smile you are hoping to achieve. He takes X-rays and examines your teeth to determine if veneers are the right solution for you.
At the next visit, Dr. Rafaat creates a model of your teeth and places acrylic or wax replicas of veneers over your teeth to see how the veneers would change their appearance. He also takes impressions of your teeth and sends them to a lab that manufactures the veneers. Dr. Rafaat then removes a small amount of enamel, when necessary, and if so, he gives you temporary veneers to wear until the permanent ones are back from the lab.
At the last visit, Dr. Rafaat places the new veneers on your teeth and makes final adjustments. Then he applies an adhesive and moves the veneer into its permanent position. He uses a special light that bonds the veneer very quickly. Finally, the moment you’ve been waiting for: Dr. Rafaat hands you the mirror. Your smile transformation is complete: beautifully bright, even, straight teeth. You’ll be smiling when you leave the office!
